ACER Middle East has signed a strategic partnership with Mekdam Technology to strengthen assessment and evidence-informed practice in schools across Qatar.

The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) Middle East has signed a strategic partnership with Mekdam Technology, a subsidiary of Mekdam Holding Group Q.P.S.C., to strengthen assessment and evidence-informed practice in schools across Qatar.

The agreement was signed at an official ceremony in Doha, Qatar on 20 September 2026 by Aya Rajakaruna, General Manager of ACER Middle East, and Bara' Sami, Group General Manager of Mekdam Holding Group.

The partnership brings together two complementary strengths. Mekdam Technology contributes strong local capability, market knowledge and technology expertise. ACER Middle East brings the depth of the wider ACER group: more than 95 years of educational research, assessment expertise and evidence-informed practice, built through work with governments, education systems, schools and educators around the world since 1930.

Together, the two organisations will support the education goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, giving schools access to high-quality assessment and research-based tools that help educators understand where each student is in their learning and plan the next steps for their progress.

Aya Rajakaruna, the General Manager at ACER Middle East said the partnership marks an important milestone for ACER Middle East in the region.

‘Qatar is an important part of our Middle East growth strategy. Mekdam brings strong local capability, market knowledge and technology expertise, and ACER brings nearly a century focused on one purpose: improving learning. Bringing those strengths together creates a very exciting opportunity, and I am looking forward to the impact we can create for schools, educators and learners,’ Ms Rajakaruna said.

Mr Bara’ Sami the Group General Manager of Mekdam Holding Group QPSC said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to education in Qatar.

‘This agreement reflects a joint commitment to enhancing the quality, reach and effectiveness of education initiatives in Qatar. We look forward to the meaningful outcomes this partnership will deliver for students, educators and institutions across Qatar,’ Mr Sami said.
