Dates, costs and registration
Schools in the Asia Pacific region can deliver the ALC online from 1 August until 31 August 2018.
Registration dates - ALC Online
Registration for the ALC 2018 will open on 23 October 2017 and will close on 31 July 2018.
If your school has participated in the ALC from 2013 onwards, please use your existing ACER online assessment and reporting account to register for 2018. Download the ALC Quick Guide (below) for step-by-step instructions.

New schools must create an ACER online assessment and reporting account.
Once your account is created, an email with login details will be sent to you. Please file these details safely as you will need to use your account each year to register for the ALC. Another email will follow once your account is approved by the ALC Team - when the second email arrives you can log in and register for the ALC. School Report: included.
The ALC School Report is an interactive online tool that provides an insight into individual student and cohort (group) performance in the skills of Listening and Reading for each language and level for which the school is registered. Comparative data on cohort performance against other schools is also provided.
NB School Reports will be delivered online.
All schools will receive students' certificates in a digital format.
Purchasing ALC single-use credits
Once a school is logged into its ACER online assessment and reporting account (OARS), ALC single-use credits can be purchased for $13 each.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure you purchase only the number of ALC credits required for your students as they are NON-REFUNDABLE and CANNOT be carried over from one year to the next.
However, if a change is required after a credit has been purchased and a test assigned to a student:
- the test can be unassigned and the credit becomes available for reassigning; and
- this credit is now available to be assigned to another student in the same school, for any level certificate, within the test period, that is, 1 – 31 August during the year of purchase.
You can purchase additional ALC credits at any time up until the end of the testing period (31 August).
