Research in a number of disciplines is providing deeper insight into the nature of human learning.  Advances in neuroscience, cognitive psychology, social and behavioural sciences and education are adding to our understanding of fundamental learning processes and of the conditions that lead to successful learning.

Our work in the SLC@ACER allows us to bring methods from those various disciplines together to gain better understandings of the important role of emotions, learning environments and effective pedagogical practices in education, and these insights will have direct implications for teaching and learning in educational settings.
