ACER’s Centre for Global Education Monitoring supports the monitoring of educational outcomes worldwide, engaging in the discussion around the collection and use of education data to inform policy aimed at improving educational progress for all learners.

Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP)

ACER is a member of the Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP). The network aims to strengthen education systems to improve quality education in the region through knowledge sharing, research and capacity building. Staff of the GEM Centre regularly participate in NEQMAP activities, including the Third Steering Group and Annual Meeting in December 2015, the collaborative research on using large-scale assessments to inform education policy, and capacity building acivities, such as the workshop on Reporting and Dissemination of Large-Scale Learning Assessments.

PAL network – People’s Action for Learning

The PAL network currently joins citizen-led, household-based assessments in 14 countries in Africa, Asia and North America. Citizen-led assessments measure basic literacy and numeracy competencies of all children, whether or not they are enrolled in school. A common aim of citizen-led assessments is to bring learning and measurement of learning outcomes and progress to the centre of educational policy and practice. ACER-GEM is a special memebr of the PAL network and also provides technical support to individual citizen-led assessments, including technical reviews.

The Learning Portal Blog of the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) provides  neutral and relevant information on learning issues, from primary through to secondary education. The blog supports the IIEP’s Learning Portal’s purpose to provide information on planning for quality education and improved learning outcomes.

Global Education Monitoring Report

The Global Education Monitoring Report is an evidence-based report published annually by UNESCO. The objective of the report is to monitor and review progress toward education targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework. Themes covered within the report range from inequality, gender, teaching and learning, to conflict literacy and early childhood.
