The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) released the PISA 2018 national report on Tuesday 3 December 2019.

Dr Sue Thomson, ACER Deputy CEO (Research) and Director of ACER's Educational Monitoring and Research division, and Surveys and International Assessments research program, will be available for comment.

Dr Thomson is National Project Manager for PISA in Australia, and National Research Coordinator for Australia for the IEA Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and IEA Progress in International Reading LIteracy Study (PIRLS). Dr Thomson's research at ACER has involved extensive analysis of large-scale national and international data sets, including the Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth, TIMSS and PISA.
