Positive Education starts with the adults.
Most schools recognise the importance of student wellbeing, but what about teacher wellbeing? A whole of school community approach is best served by supporting as many ‘key influencers’ in a school as possible, from Administration to Teaching and Learning and Leadership functions.
This one-day workshop – part of a partnership between ACER and The Positivity Institute – is designed for any member of staff working in a school to learn the models and key evidence-based interventions of Positive Psychology on a personal as well as professional application basis.
This workshop takes a 'learn it, live it, teach it, embed it' approach to Positive Psychology in schools. This means starting with where participants are at in their own wellbeing, and taking time to reflect and recharge. The day then shows how to apply the tools and techniques to enhance teacher well-being prior to classroom or school-wide application.
Topics will include the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of Positive Psychology and Positive Education, an introduction to mindfulness and character strengths as foundations of a flourishing life and an experimental introduction to the PERMA model of wellbeing
The workshop will conclude with the creation of individual action plans for you and your school, for implementation post-workshop.
