ACER’s contribution to the EDUtech 2025 conference includes four sessions that reflect our diverse areas of expertise:

Lisa van Beeck (Project Director – Australian STEM Video Game Challenge) will explore how video game development can build community, teacher confidence, and student engagement at your school. This practical session (Day 2, 12:30 pm) showcases how game-based learning can empower both educators and students.

Dr Jane Jarvis (Research Director – Effective Practice in Education) will present on leadership for differentiation in inclusive schools (Day 1, 12:20 pm), sharing how school leaders can create environments where every learner is supported and challenged through targeted teaching.

Dr Goran Lazendic (Research Director – Assessment Data and Analytics) will join an expert panel discussing reimagining assessment in the age of AI (Day 1, 2:20 pm). This session will address how technology is reshaping how we measure learning—and what that means for schools and systems.

Dr Nathan Zoanetti (Head of Division – Assessment and Psychometric Research) will moderate a high-level panel exploring the future direction of the HSC and its assessment methods (Day 1, 4:20 pm). With leading voices from NESA and VCAA, this session will unpack how assessment must evolve to stay relevant and equitable.
