Year 6 Check-in Writing assessment
The Australian Council for Educational Research has been appointed to manage the marking of the NSW Department of Education Year 6 Check-in Writing assessment student responses.
ACER seeks to employ markers to mark the student responses for the Year 6 Check-in Writing assessment. Marking will be held in ACER’s marking centre located in Alexandria, Sydney.
No previous experience in large-scale marking operations is necessary however, preference will be given to primary teachers and secondary literacy-trained teachers, and experienced markers of literacy assessments.
Marking is scheduled to take place over a three to four -week period during September and October 2026.
Compulsory leader training will take place at ACER Alexandria on Monday 14 September, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Compulsory training for all markers will take place at ACER Alexandria on Tuesday 15 September, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
You will be required to attend all day marking sessions.
Week 1: Tuesday 15 September to Friday 18 September. 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Week 2: Monday 21 September to Friday 25 September. 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Week 3: Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October. 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
Week 4: Tuesday 6 October until marking is complete 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
