Open educational resources (OER)
The use of open educational resources (OER) has become more relevant in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers have shifted to online teaching, invested in improving instructions, adopted new roles, and engaged in professional learning throughout the year.
This ACER workshop will help teachers understand how digital OER can support them in their teaching journey. How can they easily access these resources? What are the copyright issues involved in using, modifying, and adapting OER?
Workshop facilitators will share high quality OER repositories available in the public domain and discuss key principles of OER curation. They will also present online tools and technologies for curating digital resources. Practical ways of using OER curation platforms will be discussed.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- understand how to use OER more efficiently
- learn to use digital resources available in OER repositories
- understand copyright issues involved in using digital OER
- undertake OER curation
- use OER curation digital tools.
