Corrective Reading Decoding
The workshop will provide participants the tools and practice to teach students who cannot read the essential skill of how to 'break the code'. Participants will learn the skills to deliver the program effectively, improve their current instruction and increase student performance.
Participants will learn how to identify ineffective reading behaviours which thwart a student’s chances of gaining meaning from print.
Corrective Reading Decoding remediates primary and secondary students’ reading difficulties by explicitly teaching the skills of phonemic awareness, phonics and decoding. The workshop will assist teachers who plan to teach or have recently started teaching Corrective Reading Decoding.
The workshop is practically orientated and specifically designed to provide participants with functional skills to use in the classroom, including:

Resources: All required resources are provided, including course notes and stationery. All registrants will receive a certificate of participation at the conclusion of the workshop.
