Corrective Reading Decoding
The workshop will provide participants the tools and practice to teach students who cannot read the essential skill of how ‘to break the code’. Participants will learn the skills to deliver the program effectively, improve their current instruction, and increase student performance.
Participants will learn how to identify ineffective reading behaviours which thwart a student’s chances of gaining meaning from print.
Corrective Reading Decoding remediates primary and secondary students’ reading difficulties by explicitly teaching the skills of phonemic awareness, phonics, and decoding. The workshop will assist teachers who plan to teach or have recently started teaching Corrective Reading Decoding.
