The goal of this project is to assess options, develop strategies and plans regarding research and use of adaptive methods in computer-based test delivery at ACER.
During 2013-16 ACER surveyed the field of current research and applications in Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT). Investigations were carried out to evaluate models and identify adaptive models that serve the purposes and philosophy of assessment at ACER.
Based on this work, a plan is being developed for the implementation of CAT at ACER by 2019. An ACER CAT assessment and implementation committee will be established to oversee this project and provide guidance on the rationale, options and feasibility of various CAT models and item bank designs for particular assessment objectives.
